This policy explains how Techthos.net handles cookies, local storage, and analytics. In short: we do not use tracking or advertising cookies, we rely on privacy-friendly analytics hosted on our own servers in the European Union, and we only enable analytics after you give consent.

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. “Local storage” is a similar browser mechanism that lets a site remember small preferences on your device. Both are widely used to make websites work, remember your choices, or measure usage.

2. We Do Not Use Tracking Cookies

Techthos.net does not set advertising cookies and does not use third-party tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Google Maps, or any advertising networks.

We store a small amount of information in your browser’s local storage to remember strictly functional preferences — for example your dark/light theme choice and your analytics consent decision. This information stays on your device, is not used for tracking, and is not shared.

3. Analytics (Umami)

To understand how the site is used and improve it, we use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that we self-host on our own servers in the European Union. Your data never leaves Europe and is never sold or shared with third parties.

Umami:

  • is cookieless — it does not store cookies on your device;
  • collects only aggregated, anonymous usage data (such as page views, referrers, and approximate region), with no personal profiles;
  • does not track you across other websites and does not build advertising profiles.

Analytics is off by default. The Umami script is loaded only after you accept via our consent banner. If you decline, no analytics are loaded.

4. Your Choices

When you first visit, a consent banner asks whether you want to enable analytics:

  • Accept — analytics is enabled and your choice is remembered.
  • Decline — no analytics is loaded.

You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer, which reopens the banner. You can also clear your saved choice by deleting site data for techthos.net in your browser settings.
